اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي ظُلْمًا كَثِيرًا، وَلَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَغْفِرَةً مِنْ عِنْدِكَ، وَارْحَمْنِي، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

Dua e Masura Transliteration

Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman kathiran, wa la yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa anta, faghfir li maghfiratan min ‘indika, warhamni, innaka antal-Ghafurur-Rahim.

Dua e Masura in Urdu

اے اللہ! بے شک میں نے اپنی جان پر بہت ظلم کیا ہے، اور تیرے سوا کوئی گناہوں کو بخشنے والا نہیں۔ پس تو اپنی طرف سے مجھے بخش دے اور مجھ پر رحم فرما۔ بے شک تو ہی بہت بخشنے والا، نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

English Meaning

O Allah, I have greatly wronged myself, and no one forgives sins except You. So grant me forgiveness from You and have mercy on me. Surely You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

Authentic source: Abu Bakr al-Siddiq asked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to teach him a supplication to say in his prayer. The Prophet ﷺ taught him this dua. It is recorded in Sahih al-Bukhari 834 and Sahih Muslim 2705.

When Is Dua e Masura Read?

This supplication can be made in Salah. A well-established place for personal supplication is after the Tashahhud and sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ, before ending the prayer with Salam.
