Dua e Hajat in Simple Words
There is no requirement that a personal need must be asked with only one fixed wording. You may praise Allah, send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ, make authentic Quranic or Prophetic duas, and then ask Allah clearly for your specific need in your own words.
You can ask for halal needs such as guidance, marriage, employment, relief from difficulty, family matters, debt relief, study, travel, or other permissible concerns.
Salat ul Hajat – Prayer for a Need
Salat al-Hajah is commonly described as a voluntary prayer followed by supplication when a person has a need. Reports specifically prescribing a fixed Salat al-Hajah formula have been graded differently by hadith scholars. Therefore, avoid treating a particular number, wording, or ritual as obligatory.
A safe general practice is to perform voluntary prayer, praise Allah, send salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ, make authentic duas, and sincerely ask Allah for the permissible need.
Another Powerful Quranic Dua
حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ
Transliteration: Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal-wakil.
Meaning: Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.
Source: Qur’an 3:173.
